One of the first things Arun tells a new client is this: whatever they share with him, however long they have kept it to themselves, it will go no further. He says this early and without qualification, because most clients arrive at a lawyer's office still holding something back. For Arun, privilege is not a procedural formality. It is what allows a client to finally speak freely and tell the whole story.

Ask him what lawyers most often get wrong in family law, and he answers without hesitation. Too many never take the time to understand what the client actually needs, or what a good outcome would look like for that particular family. And too many mistake detachment for professionalism. Arun regards it instead as a shortcoming. It is precisely why he chose family law over commercial litigation: he wanted work where the people mattered more than the file.

What a first meeting with Arun looks like

He wants everything. What happened, what you are afraid of, what you are hoping for, the parts you have not said out loud yet. His goal for the end of that first appointment is simple and specific: you leave lighter. Weight lifted. A clear sense that someone competent has taken this on and is standing in front of you now.

How he works

Arun builds trust fast, and he is transparent about what he can and cannot do. Once he is in your corner, he is fully in, whatever the circumstances. He is also the kind of lawyer who knows when to pull in a senior colleague with deeper experience on a specific issue, which is one of the reasons our clients get the strength of the whole firm rather than one person’s calendar.

A second career, and why it matters

Arun earned his law degree from Sri Venkateswara University in India, received his National Committee on Accreditation certification in 2024, and was called to the British Columbia Bar in 2026. He is fluent in English, Hindi, Malayalam, and Tamil, and is able to meet with clients and their families in any of these languages.

Law is Arun's second career. Prior to entering the profession, he spent over six years working with major Canadian financial institutions, where his role centered on helping clients identify and meet their financial objectives. The core skills involved — sitting down with individuals, helping them clarify their priorities, and working alongside them toward defined goals — are not new to him; they represent years of accumulated professional experience.

Although still early in his legal career, Arun has already demonstrated his capability in the courtroom. Shortly after his call to the Bar, he single-handedly managed a family law trial and secured a successful outcome for his client — a result that reflects both his preparation and his ability to advocate effectively under pressure, even at this early stage of practice.

Off the clock

Outside the office, Arun can typically be found on a trail with his dog, Blue, spending time with family, or somewhere out in nature. He resets properly, which is part of why he shows up steady for people on their hardest days.
