Meet Guneet

I am an associate lawyer, and my goal is for every client to feel nurtured and at home while we move through their legal journey together. I work from Pathway Legal’s Surrey location and throughout the Lower Mainland. I serve clients in English, Punjabi, and Hindi.

What to look for in a family lawyer

Every lawyer knows the law. In a family matter, what sets one apart is empathy and a refusal to treat your case as one more “file.” I lead with kindness and compassion. I listen, and I genuinely care about what happens to you and your children.

That same care is why I will tell you the truth, even when it is hard to hear. If a client digs into a position that is unreasonable, one that will not serve them or their children, I will not nod along to keep the peace. I will kindly and firmly walk them back to steadier ground, because protecting a client sometimes means protecting them from a choice they will come to regret. It is compassion with a backbone, and it is exactly what you want in your corner.

Why I chose Pathway Legal

I knew before I finished law school that I wanted to practice family law, and that I wanted to do it somewhere that shared my values: compassion, empathy, and ambition. When I came to understand Pathway Legal's vision and saw those values lived out every day at the firm, I knew Pathway was the right home for me.

Life outside of law

Whatever time I have outside work goes to my family: my wonderful husband, my chirpy toddler, and my charming teenager. I love the outdoors, hiking, and the beaches, though I will not complain about a full day of Netflix on the couch either.

On dogs, and one in particular

My favourite animal is the dog, even though they can scare me a little. In college, I brought home a Labrador puppy named Angel. Angel is gone now, and the space she left behind will never fully close, but I am grateful to her for showing me the purest love there is. I am in good company here, where Inu, our Chief Barking Officer, and Maya, our Junior Paw-ssociate, keep the office in line.
