What is your role at Pathway Legal?

I work with Pathway legal as an independent contractor, and have my own practice in Surrey B.C. While I primarily practice family law, I also provide services for small claims and tribunal matters, wills and estates matters and a variety of notary services.

Describe a case or situation where you made a big difference.

I had the opportunity to work with clients who were seeking an adoption order to allow one client legally adopt the other client’s son. It was really wonderful to be able to help the three of them be legally united as a family, especially as the stepfather and child had a very adorable and close relationship.

What should clients look for when hiring a lawyer or law firm?

Clients need to trust their lawyer; they should look for transparency from the lawyer and law firm, honestly and straightforward communication, and finally someone the client feels understands them and is willing to work with them to have their specific needs met.

What are your interests outside of law?

Outside of work, I love to read, mostly fiction and fantasy novels, travel, tackle various DIY and art projects, and spend time with my partner, family, friends, and dog.

What is your favourite kind of animal?

Despite being obsessed with my dog I love big cats, and particularly love tigers.

What is your favourite quote and why?

My favourite quote is really a Gujarati saying that essentially translates to what will happen, will happen. It is a reminder that we do not and cannot always have control of the events that happen in our lives and that sometimes, it is okay let go and let life unfold as it may.
