I am an Ontario-based family lawyer who is also practicing family law in BC.
Please describe a case in the last year or two where you made a big difference.
I argued four motions (BC’s equivalent of applications) in two months on a high conflict, child abduction file. I did not skip a beat and relentlessly pursued the return of my client’s child until this was accomplished and the other party faced contempt of court. I believe in alternative dispute resolution whenever possible, but I will go to bat for you if court is the only option.
How did you build a successful practice?
I hustle in many ways, but above all, I am very client-focused. This means giving people straightforward, no-nonsense advice to empower them in whatever they’re going through. Do this well, do this with compassion, and the business will come.
What should clients look for in a lawyer?
A lawyer you can get a hold of without chasing. One who replies to you in a timely way, who listens to you, and then comes up with a plan. A good family lawyer involves you in every step of the process, so you always know what’s going on. I pride myself on being accessible and focused.
My favourite animal.
A rescued animal and even more so, my best friend, Bok Choy!! She is a 3 year old boxer previously abandoned in Texas, now living the good life she deserves in Canada! Who wouldn’t love this face?
My interests outside of law.
Did I mention my dog?! I also love live music, technology, and learning different cultures.
