What is your role at Pathway Legal?

I am the Executive Assistant to Val Hemminger, handling incoming calls and managing the schedule. I also tackle any requests as necessary from planting, paperwork or coffee runs.

What should clients look for in a lawyer or law firm?

Having handled correspondence from multiple firms, I think it is important to find a firm where you are not just another file number, and one where your story is valued. A firm that's willing to work alongside other firms is also a boon.

What are your interests in addition to law?

I love creating shared experiences through storytelling - whether it be through online gaming, in person table top games, or writing (I am currently writing a fantasy novel)! As I am new to the area, I am excited to continue exploring Vancouver Island.

What attracted you to Pathway Legal?

At first glance, the subject of divorce and family separation is not a happy one. I was (and am) intrigued by Val's approach to make it a wholesome experience.

What is your favourite kind of animal and what makes it your favourite? 

Owls. Historically a symbol of wisdom (in the western world), and even divination, I find them fascinating creatures and very rewarding to catch a glimpse of. If you visit my house, You will find owl paraphernalia hidden throughout it. 🦉
